38 Weeks Dr Visit

I had my 38 week check-up today and everything was great! I gained 2 more pounds, my blood pressure was good and I have no swelling. The baby’s heart rate was about 158 and she is still head down. The Dr did some external feeling around and thinks the baby is about 7 pounds. On the inside, I am dilated a "fingertip" which I think is about a centimeter. My next appt is in 10 days and I will be one day from 40 weeks by that time, so hopefully I won’t have to go to that appt. I would really love to have this baby by then!


Big Brother is very excited!

36 Week Dr Visit

I had my 36 week check up yesterday (Monday, March 24) and everything was good. First of all, I gained a whopping 8 pounds in the last month! Not what I was expecting, but I guess I was making up for previous months when I lost a couple of pounds. That makes my total weight gain 17 pounds. My blood pressure was good and I have no swelling so the Dr said I was perfect. The baby's heart rate was about 145 and she is head down, getting ready to be born. I don't have another appointment for 2 weeks and at that point they will check to see if I am dilating at all. That's about it...it was a very short appointment. I have been more and more uncomfortable these days, getting up and down out of the couch is hard work and dealing with Lane is too! :) Sunday morning before I got out of bed I had some mild cramping and I was a little worried, but it subsided and I was fine the rest of the day. I guess that's it for now...I will write more in two weeks if not sooner. Stay tuned..............

Easter 2008

Here are a few pictures from our Easter. Lane had lots of fun searching for eggs with the kids from the neighborhood. The weather was gorgeous and we had a GREAT day!

Been a LONG time....

Okay, so its been a really long time since I did this, but we are coming down to the wire, I figured I better get on here and write an update. First off, I am 36 weeks pregnant today and I have about 28 days left before our little Chloe makes her grand entrance. I have my next Dr appt on Monday so it will be interesting to see what they have to say. From this point I will go back every week until she is born.

Lane had a Big Brother class last night up at the hospital. It was really cute. The kids all colored pictures for their new babies. They read a story about when baby comes home. They took turns diapering and holding the baby. Then to wrap up, they got to tour the Labor and Delivery Dept so they would know where mommy would be. I think Lane had a really good time!

We have been working hard getting Chloe's room all ready for her and I am proud to say that it finally feels like it is done. There are still things I would like to do in there, but for the most part it's done. If she were to come tonight, her room is ready.

Progress

21 Weeks down...we're more than half way there! I am feeling a lot of moving these days, and some of it can be felt from the outside, too. I have been hungry a lot more, too. Last night when I went to bed, my stomach was growling and I really should have gotten up to eat a bowl of cereal, but I didn't. Sleep won out. I have been cleaning like a mad woman, so that has exhausted me for the past few nights. I just can't seem to keep the house clean with Paul and Lane around!! ;) I have compiled a short slide show of my progress so far. Ultrasound

We had our ultrasound on Tuesday and everything looked really good. The baby was moving all over the place, some of which I can feel, but a lot of it I can't. We spent a lot of time trying to get a good picture of the heart because every time the tech would try to snap the picture the baby would move. (Oh yeah and the heart rate was 150.) We got to see all the little organs, hands, feet, arms and legs. Finally after all the necessary pictures, we checked the sex. They baby was acting a little shy when we were trying to see. She had her legs together and tucked up to her body. Notice I say "she." They say it is a GIRL!!! 98% chance of it being a girl, that is. The tech said, she saw no scrotum sticking out, but she did see echogenic lines which is what they look for to determine a girl. So the tech thinks it's a girl. I guess it's her job to know these things, right?? Well, we are half way to delivery, so I guess we will know for sure in about 4 1/2 months! I can't wait, and I think Lane is excited, too, with the prospect of a sister! We haven't really discussed names at length, but we think her name will be Chloe.

I had my 18 week check up today. I'm actually 17 weeks and 4 days, but whatever... Lane went with me, Paul couldn't make it. We finally heard the baby's heartbeat; it was 135 bpm. Lane was right around 150 bpm when he was inutero, but I don't know if that means anything. I guess "they" say that a slower heart rate is a boy and a quicker one is a girl, but we'll just have to wait and see. And on that note, my Ultrasound is scheduled in two weeks, so we might just know which kind of baby this is very soon! I am feeling better these days, but still really tired and almost weak feeling sometimes. I told the Dr and she ordered blood work for Anemia, so we should hear something in a couple of days. Halloween

Well, we had a fun and safe Halloween this year as we hope all of our friends and family did as well. Lane seemed to really understand to concept this year and he was excited about going Trick-or-Treating. There were a couple of houses that were decorated scary that he didn't want to go to, but for the most part he didn't let anything get in the way of the candy! We went with several of the neighbor kids and so that really helped out, too. Lane ran the whole time trying to keep up with the bigger kids. It was lots of fun! At the house, Paul handed out candy. We went through 6 bags of candy and then when Lane and I got home, we went through about half of his candy, too.
