4 Months

Well, this has been a busy month for us! To start off, Chloe and Mama went on a big trip back to Oklahoma and Kansas and Chloe got to meet ALL KINDS of new faces. We flew into OKC and stayed at Nana and Papa's house in Guthrie for a few days and then we drove up to Leavenworth, KS for cousin Amy's wedding reception. The very next day we drove back down to Tonkawa to stay at Gigi and Rex's house. And then we flew back to San Diego. It was a busy trip with lots of riding around, but Chloe handled it all very well...until we got home. She was so SPOILED from being held all the time, that we had a few days when she wasn't very happy, but we have moved past that now.

Still no teeth! Even though I could swear that they are still bugging her. She chews her fists all the time and slobbers more than any baby I've ever seen. But no sign of a tooth yet! We started giving her cereal a week ago, but her tummy got really upset so we have stopped the cereal for now. I think she just wasn't ready for it. We'll try again in a couple of weeks. She really did seem to like the cereal and the 3 times I gave it to her, she ate it all up! She has been laughing and smiling a lot. She also tries to roll around. When I have her on her back she gets all arched around and I think she could just roll right over, but she hasn't yet. She doesn't sit on her own yet, but she wants to. She loves to be sitting up taking in the whole picture. Whether she is in the Bumbo or on someone's lap or propped on the couch, she LOVES to be sitting.

We haven't been back to the Dr yet, but she has an appointment next week for her check up. And she will probably get a couple more shots, too. :(

As for Lane, he continues to be a big helper. He has been outside a lot in the past couple of weeks. The weather is so nice, that I just can't keep him contained. So he has been going outside after lunch and staying out usually til supper time. And then sometimes he goes back out after supper! All the neighborhood kids started school today and that has motivated me to get busy with Lane on learning. He will go to kindergarten next year, so we need to be working on his ABC's, numbers, colors, and shapes. He also needs to be able to tie his shoes and wipe his own butt. No kidding. These are all requirements for him to go next year, so we have a lot of work to do. I am really looking forward to this time next year. Lane needs an outlet for his energy and I think school will be fun for him.

Well, I will write more after Chloe's appt to update her height and weight. Take care, we love you all!

Can't forget Lane...

I am feeling more and more that poor little Lane gets left to the wayside lately. I haven't said much about him or posted many pictures. He was having a little bit of a hard time when little sister first came home, but I think now he LOVES having her around. He is still wild sometimes, but I think more than anything he is looking for attention. Afterall, Sissy takes a lot of my time during the day and it used to be just him. He is a really good big brother and always concerned when Chloe cries. But at the same time, he is a little rough with her.

About Lane: He is 39 inches tall now and I think he weighs about 35 pounds. He talks ALL the time and I can understand about 90% of it! He comes up with new words nearly everyday! His newest phrase is "My Pleasure," after you say "Thank You" to him!! What a sweet thing to say! He is starting to mind a little better, especially about picking up his toys. He likes to play outside...all day if you'd let him. He can turn the TV on by himself, find the channel with his shows and turn the volume up or down. Some of his favorite shows are Handy Manny, Power Rangers, Bob the Builder and Wow Wow Wubsy. He also likes movies. His favorite is Transformers! He loves Bumblebee and Optimus Prime. We also watch Spiderman on a regular basis. The biggest and best news by far is that Lane is finally potty trained!! He really got the hang of it about February, I guess. We have had a few accidents here and there, but not very often. He even sleeps through the night in his "choneys." What a blessing that is with the new baby!

Well, that is all I can think of for now. I will try to keep Lane in mind more when I am blogging. Love to all who read these words..............

3 months

Wow!! What a short 3 months it has been! Our little Chloe is growing like a weed and becoming her own little person. Her and Lane seem to be getting along quite well and it is lots of fun to watch them interact with each other. Lane is a little rough, but Chloe doesn't seem to mind at all! You can tell that they really do love each other!

At 10 weeks, Chloe is swatting at toys and keeping a sharp eye on brother. She "follows" him around the room. We spent our first 4th of July together at the beach! Daddy brought a tent and we were nicely shaded and even had enough privacy to nurse and take a couple of little naps! At 12 weeks, Chloe is Grabbing toys now and holding on for dear life. We have a little activity mat for her that she likes to play under. Now it is 13 weeks and she may have her first tooth coming in!!! Crazy, I know, but she is showing all the signs. She is fussy more than usual, slobbering all over the place and chewing on her hand all the time! I have felt her gums, but I don't know if I'm feeling something or not. She is holding her head up very well and prefers to be in a sitting position so she can look around the room. She likes to watch her hand and fingers move in front of her face and she LOVES to watch brother constantly!

2 Months

Had our 6 week check up on June 2, 2008. Chloe weighed 10 lbs 8 oz and was 22 1/2 inches tall! She possibly has reflux which is causing her to be fussy, so the Dr prescribed Zantac to help. She is waking only once or twice at night, which is GREAT! She started to coo at about 7-8 weeks and is smiling ALOT when we talk to her. At 2 months she is sleeping 9 hours most nights!!

1 month

Chloe weighed 8 lbs 2 1/2 oz at 2 week check up. She was also 20 1/4 inches long! Responding with a smile by 3 weeks and working on her head control.

Been a while...

It's been a while, so I'm going to try to get caught up here...

Chloe Dee is here!!

Well our new little baby girl has finally arrived! Chloe Dee Jensen was born on April 21, 2008 at 3:40 in the afternoon. She weighed 7 lbs 12 oz and was 20 inches long. She has a head full of dark hair and so far she has been a very good baby. We were able to come home yesterday (4/22) and it is really nice to be at home. Chloe did have a little jaundice, so we went back today for a weight and bilirubin check. She is doing great! She nurses so well that her jaundice is nearly non-existant! Big brother Lane is doing well, too. He loves to rub Chloe's little head and he loves to get close and talk to her. He seems concerned when she cries. The slide show above only has a few pictures, but our neighbor Anita, who watched Lane while we were in the hospital has more pictures that I will post later. Take care and we will keep in touch.

40 Weeks

Well, we're down to the wire now! I had my 40 week appt on Thursday (April 17) and everything was good. I gained 1 more pound and my blood pressure was good. Baby's heart rate was 155 and she is still head down. I am dilated 1 1/2 cm so now its just a waiting game to see when she will come. I had my membranes stripped which was nothing short of TORTURE!!! Never want to do that again, but I have been having some contractions since then, so hopefully that will get the ball rolling. We have been taking long walks trying to see if that will help any, but so far nothing. If I am still pregnant on April 25th, I go for a Non-Stress Test to make sure the baby is doing well. And if I am still pregnant on April 29th, I go in for induction...I am hoping that will not happen. So for now, we will just wait and see. I will try to post a message when we are going to the hospital so that everyone knows we're on our way. Take care!
