Welcome to the Jensen Babes' Blog! This has been created in an effort to keep our friends and family up-to-date on what is going on in our busy lives. Enjoy!
Well, I finally got good pics of Chloes new little teeth. She had just finished eating Plums and Rice Cereal, so her face is messy, but she was goonin' so I had to take the pictures.
Okay, so this one is going to be a long one... I haven't updated in a while and my only excuse is that we have been super busy with the holidays. Now things have slowed down a bit and I can reflect on the past 2 months.

First of all, on Nov. 21 Chloe turned 7 months old! She is sitting confidently these days and reaching for toys on the floor around her. Every now and then she falls over and face plants into the carpet, but she doesn't seem to mind. That way it is easier to reach the toy she wants. She now has two little teeth on the bottom and is working on one on top. We had her 6 month check up the week before and she weighed 14 lbs 4 oz and was 26 inches long. Her weight was in the 11th percentile and her height was in the 56th percentile. She actually LOST about a pound from the last visit, but the Dr seemed to think that was fine as long as she was still growing and didn't lose any more. She said it could be due to the fact that she is moving around a lot more and that her appetite has probably leveled off. The next week...we were all sick with colds.

December was an exciting month for us all! We started off the holiday season decorating our tree and then going to Paul's work Christmas party and the kids got to see Santa and they each got a present. Lane asks daily if Santa is coming today and then he checks under the tree. When I finally started putting a few presents under there, he really thought Santa had come and he was SO excited! Somewhere around the middle of the month, we went to the mall to see the "Real" Santa and get our picture made. Lane had a whole list that he rattled off to Santa, which I'm sure only we understood, but that's okay. Chloe is rolling ALL over the place and is now working on both top teeth, so all she wanted for Christmas was her two front teeth. HAHA...She got them! As we get closer to the Big Day...our community center had a Christmas party and the kids got to see yet another Santa, this time they got to see him separately. The week before Christmas, Momma got mastitis and that put her down for a good two days. Antibiotics helped greatly and so did Daddy! Thank goodness he was able to take a day off to take care of Momma and the kids! Once Momma felt better, she made lots of candies and goodies for the neighbors and also got the annual Christmas Cards mailed.

Which brings us to Christmas... We stayed home this year for the first time since Lane was a baby. It was so nice to wake up in our own home and go down to see what Santa had brought. We ate dinner with our wonderful neighbors and then sang Karaoke after the kids all went to bed...it was a GREAT Christmas!

Okay, thats it for now...I will do another update soon...after Chloe's nine month check up. Hope y'all had a Merry Christmas and Happy New year!
I know its been a while since my last blog, but we have been quite busy with the Holiday season...no excuse! I promise to get some pictures together and post them in the next day or two. Until then, I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and that your New Year will be blessed!
We had a really busy week topped off with a fun Halloween night. Paul was asked to go to 29 Palms at the last minute, so he was gone most of the week and missed out on the Trick or Treating. But we made the most of it and had fun anyway. Lane was excited to whole week and then wore out quickly once we were out trick or treating. Chloe had to stay up a little past her bedtime, but she was very good and seemed to like watching all the craziness of Halloween. All in all it was great.
We are still waiting on Paul's promotion, so I will update you all when that happens. Love to all! Sara :)
...or half a year! We had a little half-birthday celebration...very little. Lane and I sang Happy Birthday to her and then we shared a cupcake. It was fun and it was cute. Chloe didn't feel very good that day because she was working on her first tooth! Now it is in and she is feeling better, but I think the one right next to it is coming in, too. She keeps feeling her gums with her tongue and grinding. And she likes to click her tongue, too. She does NOT like for me to try to feel the tooth, though. :)
We seem be in a pretty good routine, these days. Chloe is sleeping from 7:30 pm to 7:30 am most days. She did get up this morning at 5:30, but went right back to sleep. We nurse really well first thing and then she plays on the floor for a while with brother. Then by 11 its time to eat some cereal and then go back upstairs to nurse some more. Then she naps from 12 - 2 in the afternoon. We nurse a little more and we go outside and swing in the baby swing from around 4:30 to 5 and then it's time to come inside and eat more cereal and a vegetable. This week its green beans. So far she seems to like everything, and she loves to eat! Then Chloe helps me fix supper, we all eat and then its time to get ready for bed. Busy days!
I got a little carried away with the pictures this month, but sissy is just too cute I couldn't help it. Enjoy and take care! Love you all!
Lane is finally 4! We have had a busy week and I have waited to blog until his party which was yesterday. Monday, his actual birthday we did have a little cake for him, just for fun and one present. But we saved everything else for his big party. It was lots of fun! We had hot dogs, chips and drinks. Cake and ice cream, of course and then we opened presents. Lane got lots of new fun toys. He got a remote control car that can flip over and go on both sides...very cool. He got a Hotwheels 360 pirate ship and more hotwheels cars. He got a light sabre that glows green and red. He also got a bunch of clothes from mom and dad. He wasn't too excited about the clothes, in fact he wanted me to open those presents, like he knew what was in them. HAHA He also got some new books and a Gator Golf game (my favorite.) The boys played upstairs for hours and had lots of fun together and the adults just hung out downstairs and chatted. It was a very good day! We always make a point to measure Lane on his birthday and he is 39" tall! That makes him 3'3"! He is a VERY big boy!
Here we are at 5 months! I can't believe how fast this little girl is growing! Since my last blog we have been very busy. We had a visit from the Durbin family, we pierced Chloe's little ears, and we started eating cereal again! Chloe is also starting to roll herself over when she is on her tummy. She has done it twice so far. She still loves to stand...all the time, and she wants to be held a lot. She loves to watch Lane and she laughs at him when he makes funny faces. She is a very sweet little girl! Still no teeth, but maybe soon. Lane cut his first tooth at 5 months and 3 weeks, so it will be interesting to see when Chloe will. Chloe is still nursing... A LOT! She is a very good eater and I don't see it ending anytime soon. She is sleeping through the night, most of the time, but we do have the occasional middle of the night feeding. I don't think she really needs to eat, but it helps her to calm down and go back to sleep and we are usually only awake for 30 minutes or so. All in all, things are going very well on this side of the world. We hope that all our friends and family are well. Until next time...
Well, our little Chloe is growing fast! At her appointment she weighed 15 lbs and was 24.8 inches tall! She had 2 shots and one oral vaccine, that she handled very well. No fever this time after the shots, but she did sleep a lot that afternoon. The Dr said we could probably start taking her off the Zantac. So I have cut back on the dosage a little this past week. She seems to be handling that pretty well so far. We haven't tried food yet. I'm going to give her another week or so, and then see how she does. She has been acting like she would like to roll over. She gets all arched around and almost goes, but then flops back at the last second. She actually did roll over today, but I helped her a little. I just kept her from flopping back. She also likes to be carried all over the house. I think if I hauled her around all day while I was cooking, doing dishes or laundry or whatever, she would never make a sound...she loves it!
Lane seems to be growing too. While we were at the Dr office, he stepped on the digital scale in the hall way. He weighs 36 lbs and I think he is 39 1/2 inches tall. He has a birthday coming up soon, though and we will go see his Dr for his 4 year check up! I can't believe that he is almost 4! Where has the time gone? Everyday is something new with him. He has started to tell little lies. Nothing big, so far, just answering no when the answer is yes, and things like that. He also comes up with new things to say almost daily. Everyday he waits for the other kids to go outside so he can "play with his friends." He sings along with the songs on the radio in the car. He likes to watch "tar-toons," which could be anything, as long as he likes it. Today we were at the mall and he couldn't wait to ride in the "eler-bator!" So funny! But he has decided that he's "not ready go school yet."
I'm a stay-at-home mom to 4 year old Lane and 10 month old Chloe. I've been married to my Marine, Paul for 11 years...April will be 12! We have lived in North Carolina, Utah and now California where we have made many friends. We miss our families that live so far away, but we hope that they can have a glimpse into our daily lives through this medium. **Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page to see our slide show. It is a comparison of Lane and Chloe at different ages. Enjoy!
(I'm stealing this idea from my friend Erin, because kids say the darnedest things. I have no idea where Lane comes up with these gems!)
Lane was in trouble for hitting kids outside: Lane: Mommy, you make my un-trouble to go outside? Mommy: You have to be nice and not hit other kids.
Lane: Mommy, I like Dancing in the Stars.
Lane: That was so funny, mom. It wasn't totally funny, just a little bit funny.
Lane: Mommy! Its soggy (foggy) outside!
Lane: I have to tell Daddy the bad news. Mommy: Okay, tell Daddy the bad news. Daddy: What bad news? Lane: We ate cake without you. Sorry.
Lane: Mommy, that freaked me out! Mommy: Do you even know what that means? Lane: (thinking) Um, like when the power went out. It was dark and I couldn't see you or Sissy or Daddy. Remember? Mommy: I remember. Lane: That freaked me out!
Lane: Mommy, Is Gigi a old lady, or no? (Gigi is my mom.) Mommy: What do you think? Lane: I think she not a old lady. Mommy: *chuckle* She will be happy to hear that. (She was happy to hear that!)
Mommy: Thank you Lane for eating all your food. Lane: It's my pleasure. I'm proud of you Mommy. Mommy: Why buddy? Lane: For eating all your food.
Lane: Mommy, McDonald's isn't a restaurant. Mommy: What is it? Lane: Its......just......McDonald's.
Lane: Mommy, what are those things? Mommy: Those are canes, to help people walk. Lane: For old ladies? To hit kids?
Lane: Mommy, you make food for you and me? Mommy: I am Buddy. Lane: My tummy hungry.
Mommy: Thank you, Lane. Lane: My Pleasure.
Lane: We don't waste water. Mommy: That's right we don't. Lane: No, we have to save it for people.
Lane: Mommy, come look at Sissy! Mommy: What is she doing? Lane: She is playing with my toys!
Lane: These are my weapons. (Speaking of his plastic golf clubs tucked neatly into his pants) Mommy: Those are your weapons? Lane: Yeah, to beat the bad guys!
Lane: Mommy, I love Sissy. Mommy: I love Sissy, too. Lane: I love Daddy, too. Mommy: I love Daddy, too. Lane: You love Me, too? Mommy: Yes Buddy, I love you, too!
